teachers' day went well! it was fun being back there, as usual.. strutting in front of the General Office and asking the little pri one students where it was roused much laughter =D man, are we evil or are we evil

RISE bbq on wednesday! sure looking forward to all the fun, but planning's pretty tedious hahah. thank God there isn't any holiday homework this time round, for real! ~~party-crashers are welcome~~

Whoa it's been a hell of a three months since i last posted, in a positive sense... most of the time :D

So many changes over this short period of time! From Manutd winning the 06/07 EPL, to being 5 points behind Chelsea after a mere four games 0.o And of course, our memorable debut in Carnegie Hall hahaha! It amazes me to see how quickly time's been ticking away.

Well, it's been especially exciting in recent weeks ehh? With the crazy onslaught of CCTs and all =D Getting to my main point, I would really like to thank all those who voted me into the position of RISE vice-chairman. I treasure this opportunity, and I'm not gonna disappoint the faith you guys have in me, yup! (=

Teachers' Day celebrations this friday! xD Quartet item again, i guess. Really love this little "fellowship" of ours! :D

Well, we didn't achieve what we had targeted for Chinese Drama SYF. I'd be lying if i say that the disappointment didn't hit me hard. Yet, i totally relished the entire process. And i know i'd enjoy the process of doing laiye (hopefully) even more :P

Hahah, but for now, full speed ahead for Carnegie :)

Will be having viola lesson later on. I'm not even sure if I still remember any of the pieces. Lol, eh, i think i'd need a huge miracle later, and maybe a migraine as well (:

The next week is really gonna be madness. RISE resumes after the 2-week break we were given. And i really hope i can put in my fullest effort in rehearsals. I was somewhat distracted in that period before SYF and blaahh =/

Pheeeww... Saturday marked the end of a tedious preparation period for the SYF competitions. And i'm reallyreally proud of our performances in both competitions, and that GoldWithHonours for strings was a bonus. Well congratulations to all schools that took part in the competition (:

arrggh... i'm still waiting desperately to find out the results of chinese drama SYF! All we know is that there're only 4 schools with either Gold/GoldWithHonours, which put us in quite a precarious position, considering what happened to the technical crew that day. Well, keeping my fingers crossed :S

I totally didn't expect myself to be blogging today haha. Forgot what i was about to do, and somehow navigated to the blogger homepage. Well, thankyou for tagging everyone! :D

The Premiership title race is reeaallly heating up now. Manutd is facing a huge injury crisis, whereas Chelsea is simply a team of losers (: no doubt about who'll be the eventual winners though!

My writing is extremely incongruous zzz.. And i'd better start hounding Mr Tan Guodong for our RE proposal.

Let's hope we'll get the 3-word award for Chinese Drama :D

Kennie shall be booking into NS and start on his BMT... Hahaha, GOOD LUCK and I wish it'll be a life-changing (in the good sense, of course) experience for you! (: And to think I was just having dinner with him less than 2 hours back lol.

The past few weeks just went past in a blur. The 3 weeks of this term simply went by in a flash, with seemingly no break in between AT ALL. 2 different SYFs in consecutive days!!! Hopefully, by the 21st of April, RI has 2 more Gold With Honours safely in the bag. :P

This extended weekend has really been a blast. I was actually quite worried when i found almost nothing to do, thought i simply forgot to record them or something haha. xP Easter services were certainly fantastic (:

Well, i'd better go make SURE there's nothing i have left to do..

Hahah, well, Chinese Drama becoming part of SYF competition isn't exactly one of the best pieces of news I've heard this year. It means TWO syfs to prepare for. Double the stress, Double the effort needed. And more optimistically, Double the Honours too :P But it means i'll really need to prioritise. Both mean a lot to me, and it'd be fabulous if both are done nicely. AND I'm so gonna ~~try~~ materialise it. (:

Yes ah. Haha, finally managed to get myself to click on that link in my Favourites at this unearthly hour. It's 3.20am on a fine (maybe not) Tuesday morning :) The... nap i had from 9-1 will keep me going :D i hope.

Lol, down with a pretty bad flu. And with CNY around the corner... Blah, just wish i get well soon.

Hmm, the past month hasn't exactly been busy. Most of the time, i simply stone in front of the computer screen, looking as though i'm doing work :P but i'm pretty much just floating around aimlessly, getting down to the actual task only when i'm running out of time. Zzz, i can't complain about the late nights i guess. Argh, and it's probably due to those sleeping-at-2am kinda stuff that resulted in this bloody flu. Could hardly taste my food the entire day.

CCA-wise, the past month or so has also been pretty uneventful. The orientation of sec1s into RISE are taking quite some time. And it's pretty shocking there'll be no more rehearsals with mr sze before we test out the acoustics at the actual venue 0_0 but on a brighter note, inter-section soccer this wednesday! :D Gonna be fun!

The academic subjects are not really heating up YET. Probably would around Week9 or so. We are already scheduled to have THREE CCTs in that week alone 0___0 with at least 2 more to come, i think. Zzz, i shall adopt yuzhou's policy to mug way in advance, Heh!

Oh yeah, and all my Chinese New Year shopping about done already. Went to Orchard with Hsien on Saturday. Well, he was supposed to accompany me and help me expand the measly size of my wardrobe. (: But instead, i think his wardrobe is about his size now, which is quite a feat :P kidding ahh..

I've come out of OBS, feeling much readier to take on the challenges that would be coming my way in 2007!

There is so much to look forward to, really. And I'm pretty fortunate to be in 3D, OBS letting us know each other better. I won't say the bonds forged are quite as strong as the ones amongst the guys in 2H yet. But there're 2 whole years ahead of us now, and i really believe these 2 years are going to be a thrill haha!

Just went through my mailbox, and saw an email from a new teacher who'll be taking charge of CDC, together with Ms Cai. 0____0 Whoaaa, i'm already starting to look forward to all the CDC stuff we'd be doing this year man! Especially after HCJC drama camp, which i loved every minute of, I just have this mad desire to make a mark in all our productions and competitions we take part in this year. I have huge confidence in the members of CDC, despite losing powerhouses xD like wenjun, tianzhi and mingxue. We'll learn from them along the course of the next 2 years, and at the same time work to outshine them, hahaha, however hard that would be :)

Of course, String Ensemble! With SYF a huge upcoming event, it'll be a real hectic few months ahead for all SE members! I really wish to have my first taste of success with RISE! Hahahah!

Oh, and Prefectorial Board. Hmmm, i'm really guilty over my level of committment in PB in 2006. Sometimes, it's been a matter of luck, but most of the time, action-based. I sincerely promise to up my level of committment in RIPB over 2007, as well as 2008, and do my best in everything.

There, hahah, i feel much better saying all that, with a clearer target in mind, more or less =) 2007 will be a great year! Let's go!

TAIWAN WAS DAMN FUNFUNFUNFUN!!! :D period.

It's been a loooong time since i went abroad with my family. Primary 3, i think, to Thailand. And even then, it was only the four of us. Zzz, we couldn't even speak the language. Erm, i mean, we still can't.

This has really served as a well-needed break before the start of the next school year. It's going to be really packed, with the orientation of the sec3 foreign students, and more importantly, OBS!!! Hahaha, but i guess it's going to be fun though :P Or at least, i hope so.

Well, a little about the trip.

The plane flight was short, just 4.5 hours. Zzz, and just because i sat on one of the buttons accidentally, the movie had to start all over again. (thankfully i was just 15 minutes into it) BUT that meant i missed the ending of The Super Ex-girlfriend. Darn.

Went around a lot of the places. Lol, and i must say our tourguide really entertained us with his twisted sense of humour. Twisted in the sense that he pokes fun of the taiwan politics. Heh, past and present. In particular, the fact that the walls of the zong tong fu (the place the president stays, can't recall what it is in english) are getting higher and higher :D

Food over there was far below my expectations though. Lots of programmes running on television introducing what must be thousands of delicacies. Not as impressive though. Maybe just not palatable to my taste. But owell.

This is abrupt, but more tomorrow. Zzz, before my computer suffers some horrible fate.

Yesterday marked the last day of the drama camp. Ignore the dates, they're screwed up. zzz, help, any HTML pros around? XP heh

Well, the short 3-day camp was definitely one of the best, if not the best, i've ever been to. Theatresports really bring a lot of life and energy to the theatre, and it really tests your improvisation skills. It certainly was greaaatt fun! (:

And i must really thank the HCJC people for making this such an experience. They were really high throughout the entire camp, and that really brightened up the atmosphere. And, laughter IS infectious (: HAHA, million thanks, especially to Jamie who was seating right in front and never stopped laughing. It really spurred us on! haha xD The hcjc guys rock lah. They made this camp really unforgettable for me :D And, if this camp is held again next year, i'd DEFINITELY go!

Leaving for Taiwan in 2 days. Haven't packed zzz. But i'm pretty much looking forward to it, as i'm sharing room with my six-pack cousin. Heh, super corny. Haha, gonna be looking out for cheap stuff, shop for the New Year maybe heh, since i'll be missing X'mas in Singapore. Zzz, wonder what the atmosphere will be like over there this festive season. The downside is that we're part of a tour group, which provides some restrictions i suppose.

Re-watching the entire Dear Boys Season 1 series. Dammit, there isn't a cartoon for the 2nd Season. But who knows, i might see it first thing in Taiwan XP Hahahaha But the image of some of the characters in the 1st series simply looks weird. Haha, especially some of their hairstyles.

woah. My first day at the drama camp, which is also officially second day, has been absolutely fantastic.

In contrast to last year's camp, this year's places a huge emphasis on theatresports, which is a more interesting aspect of theater which is super enjoyable, and one which everyone, be it an actor, or a member of the crew, can enjoy.

Despite all that talk of me returning to my shuping last night, i was far too engaged by the encounter between Liverpool and West Ham, just to see WestHam surviving the mad onslaught of United throughout the entire game, and grab an uncanny 1-0 victory. zzz, and to quote xueqian, what is the world coming to?! haha don't gloat, chelski fans. Manutd are definitely one of the biggest comeback kings in history :P AND, we normally only show a resurgence of form, in the later parts of the campaign. wahaha watch out!

hmpf, missed the first day of drama camp due to an unlikely outbreak of rashes. Started to die down in the late afternoon, so went to get my passport photo updated, for the taiwan trip. damn, another quote of xeuqian "once again, i look terrible" XP at least the previous one looked ~~cute~~ innocent. kidding.

hah. it's been a long time since i've logged into my blogger account. Well, i was highly tempted to post a week ago but just forgot about it, as i wrote my shuping. HAHA, and i'm proud to say it's close to completion. Heh! Then i'm really going to enjoy my taiwan trip (:

Haha, nougats seem to have become a major part of my diet recently, since Huihan bought bags of them from his trip to Australia. Well, not only nougats, but even toffees for today.

The toffees (Everton) are up against Chelsea! And it'a clear which side i'll be rooting for all the way. Argh, the way chelsea spends simply isn't palatable to the football fans worldwide, who generally believe in burturing talents from youth teams.

HAHA, and Everton's already 1-0 up! No chance of a Garrison finish for chelsea ;) i hope :P

And today also marked the last viola lesson of the year for me! But sadly, it didn't end on a positive note, as i'd have wished it to... zzz perhaps i should have paid extra attention to certain taggers zzz :P

Wow. Massive lack of updates, and it's barely seen like half a month since i updated 0_0 seems more like a week. But of course, slowly getting used to the holiday tempo. Especially now that the "Big Match", between Manchester United and Chelski, is over.

Draw a fair result at Old Trafford. Damn, lost the perfect opportunity to go 6 points clear. Nevertheless, i'm satisfied. The EPL's headed towards Old Trafford this season. AHAHA!!! Seeya, Chelski!

Rehearsal today went by reaaal quickly, with barely an hour for combined. Zzz. Sectionals were fun though. The viola section was an impressive four-man strong :D thanks for clearing up all my physics rubbish with me along the way, Lily Lee! Heh. Physics's the best subject RI offers. (or at least, i must psyche myself into believing that)

Or maybe not, CHINESE'S THE BEST!!! The shuping is the most enjoyable assignment ever, and the ideal way to spend 2 holiday months on =)Really wonder who my chinese teacher next year will be. Though i'm absolutely sure whoever it is, we'll spend a fun-filled year together XP

Rehearsal today turned out to be pretty satisfactory. The damn nice piece we're doing for repertoire is going fairly well, and it's starting to sound... decent XD

Read an article in The NewPaper on Monday- about how a 69 year-old (i think) son was reunited with his 80+ year-old mother after being apart for 42 years.

Mr Chua, (the son)who's riddled with major heart problems, "almost didn't get to meet the mother he was yearning for all his life." Quoting Mr Chua, "Now I know the reason i survived. It was to see my birth mother again."

It was real depressing reading an article like that. There's a minority of people in the world who speak brazenly of how much they hate their parents- for petty and trivial reasons like not being granted permission to go out with their friends. While for Mr Chua, he'd willingly give up everything in the world to be reunited with his mother again!

Lots for me to reflect upon!

I should be submitting my Sec3 Course Options soon! And it would probably be Tri Sci + RA History + Malay. Although i would gladly choose Literature over Malay. BUT I have got 2 more days to decide, and i'm going to take my own sweet time... XP

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, people! (: ahahah! It feels good being 14, although it is simply a representative of the countless challenges coming my way! But I'm going to take them down one by one- starting with OBS 07 ;)

Had our first ever OBS Meeting today! I'm not going to reveal the theme just yet, though the preparations are going well, and i must say i'm reallyreally looking forward to it! Hahah!!! Oh, and there'll be the usual enrollment of foreign scholars; i look forward to meeting a few of them in my class...

I'm also glad that the apprehension i was previously feeling is slowly fading away, to be replaced by great anticipation. It'll take some time to fit in, no doubt, but it's up to us to make it a good experience. Like what Mrs Lim has tried so hard to inculcate in us- an open mind XP C'mon, batch of `08. Let's make our remaining 2 years in RI as terrific as it has been the past 2 years!

zzz Sectionals at 7.30am tomorrow. And i'd probably have to wake up at about 6, which makes it no different from any school day. Holidays are meant for a good rest... hmm, indeed XP

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. 3 more school days before the school year ends. I'd probably have been looking forward to this particular Friday months ago. But the anticipation has morphed into a sense of dread and apprehension, and i really really wouldn't mind if this school year drags on.

It's been almost two years since I first met my classmates. All but 2, (ben wee and patrick) were unfamiliar faces, yet I was excited by the prospect of being able to spend the next 4 years in Raffles Institution- my dream school since primary 1.

The 3-day 2-night orientation camp was one i enjoyed tremendously. And we got to know each other better with each day. There was not a single sign of any unbroken ice, and better relationships were forged, slowly, but steadily.

An eventful year passed quickly. We attained the status of the seniors of the juniors. We had to face even more challenges in the year 2006. The more notable ones included Drama Challenge and Sec2 Inter-Class Soccer.

These were times when 2H really managed to get to know each other better. We were really pressed for time in the Drama Challenge, yet we had to cope with the demands from the other subjects as well! It wasn't easy... But we pulled through, as a class, finally clinching the Gold Award- an achievement we can all boast of!

Inter-Class Soccer is another experience which will stay in my heart for life. I mean, who'd have expected the black horses to finish in a commendable 3rd position??? I'm really fortunate to be part of this team, along with many others, whom i'm sure share the exact thoughts.

It has indeed been a fabulous year. Yet, good things always have to come to an end...

The end of the school year is drawing closer with every minute, and we have to get ready for the choice of subjects, and be prepared for a split of classes. Bleeaaahhh... The people in this class are those whom i've grown to be extremely fond of. Never have i, in my 12 years' short education (if you consider nursery and kindergarten) been so attached to any class in particular.

Every member of this class has been a fantastic, and totally integral part of this not-so-huge family. And i'd really like to thank all of you for all the wonderful moments!

ROCK ON, 2H!!! AND KEEP IN TOUCH!!!

On a brighter note, anyone interested in a class chalet? xD

All right, so all the results have come back. Reasonable I guess, apart from a couple of subjects. Shan't go into them though :P would probably start griping without myself realising XD I shall be aiming for improvements in 2007 definitely!

Spent a lot of time at my cousin's house the past few days. It's been a lot of playing, TOO MUCH in fact. :P And I'm getting FIFA07 soon (i hope). Nothing else to do anyway. The movies are pretty disappointing. But LOTR is proving a worthy read, although my pace is totally snail-like. -.- And i've got quite a number of other really interesting books (or at least it seems) from the MPH sale from Expo on Saturday!

I guess an update on the CTs are unnecessary. I don't want to live through the utter nightmare again. Complacency got the better of me, yet again. Underestimated the papers. Or should i say, overestimated myself especially in the math and science papers.

Mr Sze returned the ~~scoreshit~~ scoresheet to us (ben wee, kevin, me) after a wait of about 2 hours. I thought my score was decent, until i got the scoresheet back!!! The supporting components was a total letdown. Blearrrghh. damndamndamndamn, Scales- 15/21. Sight reading- 11. Aural tests- 11.

Figure out the other components, and you'll probably figure out why i feel so... robbed xP

wo0ts. Manchester United totally dominated in the game against Liverpool. And expectedly, the Red Devils came out on top with a 2-0 scoreline. "Ginger Prince" was magnificent on his 500th appearance for United, and opened the scoring with another one of his perfect runs into the box. Scholesy is sure to go down in United's history books, along with other fantastic servants such as Giggsy and Gary Neville. Oh man, i sure wish Scholesy has a few more years in him at United, for he is definitely one of the brightest talents (Rooney, Ronaldo, Carrick aside) United can ever have. "There's only ONE SCHOLES!!! :D"

Geography and Malay papers today. But i had to miss my malay paper, due to a splitting headache since late last night. Went to see the doctor and he attributed it to low blood sugar (really? lol) and a lack of sleep. Bleeahh. So woke up from a five hour nap, and yea, i feel SO good :D Darn, didn't want to miss the Malay paper though. But either way, my score would have been a 3.6, so no harm done? o.0

The Geography paper was erm, more difficult than average, in my opinion. Or maybe simply because I hadn't been mugging hard enough over the weekend. No drive to do so! Compared to History, which i started last week, Geography doesn't interest me at all bleeahh!!! Thankfully, this will probably be my last Geography Paper in RI (: Argh, the Primary School people get four days off due to PSLE marking. I remember getting only 3 in pri school though. Or am i mistaken? 0_____0

Wo0ts!!! I'm topping the Fantasy Football League I started with soccer "enthusiasts" in my class, like Guodong, Weikang and.... Xiang yu xD haha!!! It was quite some bit of luck on my side, as Weikang named Ronaldo as captain. And Ronaldo was rested by Fergie so he can start in the Champions League tie. Ahahha! Chinese and English papers today. Pheeww, it was fairly do-able. And English was somewhat easier than expected. (: I think I should be able to blog after Monday (and i hope so) after the Geog and Malay papers. Geog is screwed lah. bleargh! I've been hardly paying attention in Geog for the past semester. And i'm so glad it's probably going to be my last geography paper in RI. wo0ts :D

Nothing much happened today. Except Com Studies, where Mrs Chor made us redo a couple of the tests for failing it the first time round. I spent at least half the period redoing -.-''' as i failed 2 out of 3 of the tests. Computer Studies is, honestly, a totally unnecessary subject. I hardly keep anything in mind after the lesson. But there isn't much i actually manage to absorb in the lesson anyway. lol. And help would be very much appreciated for Lessons 4 and 5 :D

Hey, wow! The guy who picked up the LG phone i lost at J8 yesterday just called me. And i'm going to collect it at J8 tomorrow. :D Although the phone isn't worth much at all, besides the SIM Card, it proves that there are still lots of nice people around. Yay!

whoa more than one week since i last blogged, shall blog now since i just woke up, and have about 3 hours before i leave for school. Damn, if only i'd spent more time in the past week mugging xP bleargh. CTs start in 3 days, and the heat's rising, rapidly. It's time to start studying like mad, because the tests for most of the subjects would be making the distinction between my 4.0 and 3.6. With the exception of maths, which is more or less secure (hopefully)

The past week has been really fun though. Especially the concert at the Esplanade on Friday with Alex, Benwee and David! ahahah! took lots of photos on cbw's *stellar* N80! (it's a damn good phone, seriously!!! Although i got quite a bad throat due to the haze (lots of water, however, enabled me to do the 10km ~~run~~ jog/walk with my cousins on saturday at macritchie) They were too damn fast! ahahah. and i didn't pace myself well. Was totally out of breath by 7km, while they kept on going, STRONG! Shall be going with them more often :D

The haze on Saturday night was horrible, and i didn't leave house, but started mugging History at home. History ROCKS! :D (to think i was so obssessed with geog last year. bleaahhh) Besides the fact that there isn't much to mug for History, it really does appeal a lot more to me compared to Geog, which is like zZzZzZ??? Nvm, it shall be my last geog test of my 4 years in RI. wo0ts xD

interesting! been reading a couple of blogs of P6s i chanced upon. they sound frantic xP with PSLE just a few more days to go XD i can't really remember how i felt though. nothing recorded down anywhere (a blessing perhaps xP heh) maybe i got some memory disorder from all that excessive mugging 0___0

aha! got my viola exam results back. waaaaaayyy earlier than i expected, just 15 days after my exam. apparently, my teacher called the ABRSM office for my results. (:

didn't manage to get my scoresheet, but my score's 123. hmmm. the score's about what i expected, but lower than i had hoped. nevertheless, this really brightened up my otherwise sickening day.

yea sickening sickening day. literally. felt unwell throughout the day, thankfully there was no PE. which'd have been 16 laps of swimming bleaaahhh! but that will have to be done tomorrow anyway.

wo0ts man utd won! 1-0 to manutd. hahaha well done SAHA!!! (: haha in yer' face benfica, for knocking us out of champs league prematurely last year :D lalala!

manutd dropped points against Reading!!! damn! i sure hope it's not a repeat of last september, where we dropped points like crazy and spoiled the perfect start to the campaign.

it was pretty unlucky for manutd last night. we were dominating in terms of possession and shots at goals. yet they took the lead through a penalty. we equalised 17minutes before time, but Reading started playing a survival game, comparable to putting eight bodies in front of the penalty box. and crap, we had to settle for a 1-1 draw. we created countless chances up front, but there wasn't any leading striker to convert them. starting with 4-5-1 and playing wazza as lone striker was disappointing. bleearrgh. let's wish fergie signs someone like Torres come January :D

the weekend has been pretty uneventful. redraft of philo essay,looking up resources for atomic bomb project, mugging for math test next wednesday. and of course, reading Revolution, which took up the bulk of my time heh. oh and tomorrow's voting day already!!! X)

watched a vcd called Glory Road yesterday. a film about this basketball coach who took over a certain Texas West College's basketball team. this team was a total unknown in college basketball, and very few highly-rated players were willing to take up the proffered scholarships. so the coach, Don Hasten, started offering the basketball scholarships to skilfull black streetball players who were not given an equal chance to play in other colleges (this story took place in the 60s, where was still a great deal of social stratification between the whites and the so-called coloured people) so these players went all the way and clinched the position of National Champion.

interesting film, and a good way to spend 2 hours after some "mugging" xP. and this story (which is a true story, by the way) was dubbed the emancipation proclamation of the 60s.

aarrggh. i really have to return to my mundane chores now. ><

it's been quite some time since my last post. haha been caught up with lots of things going on. my schedule can only get tighter as the Common Tests and other stuff drawing close! in for a few... exciting weeks. =)

election speeches have been going on at the podium the past week. tomorrow will be down to the last few candidates!!! the candidates have really put in a lot of effort this year, compared to last year. just look at the number of huge banners around the school and things like bookmarks, stickers, badges been circulated. whoa, it's pretty overwhelming. i don't know the sec 1 candiates that well. the sec 2 candidates are however, simply put, good :) and i will be voting for quite a number of them!

Said said VOTE FOR Said!!! Tohster!!! TimOwnz!!! Chay and Chia!!!=) there, collecting money for advertising space though.

however, the past week saw its fair share of disappointments too. after being the black horse of the inter-class soccer tournament but sprinting all the way to the semi-finals, we got eliminated in the semis by a team which we underestimated. (got your wish, jinghui! lol) complacency did get the better of us as an opposition player score having broken clear of our defense. and despite guodong's brave attempt at a block, it proved futile in the one-on-one situation. the ball slid into goal (guodong's fingers did make contact). it was really disappointing, this being one of the last competitions of the year we'd be taking part in, bearing the name 2H, before we split in sec 3. however, to all the players in 2K, we're gonna be putting up a tough show on monday in the 3rd/4th placing match!!! :D be prepared xP

wahaha! EXAM'S OVER! haha not exactly spectacular. but it was pretty satisfactory compared to last year's :P hopefully, the examiner shares my sentiments heh.

not bad! i was satisfied with my playing. last note for Tchaik's piece was however a semitone too sharp xP but since it was a sustained note, i decided to gradually shift it back a semitone lower using "huge" vibrato. which miss lim said was not bad as i ended it off confidently despite the out of tune note. xD Processional was better, although some parts sounded a little bit too sharp. damn. but apart from that, the piece was generally well done, in my opinion xP i do not know what the examiner thinks. lol, i can write a whole essay on "masks" man. the unaccompanied Bach piece was a little unstable though >< the notes were correct, but i screwed the phrasing quite a bit. but ended off pretty well *i hope*

would rather not talk abt it xP evil examiner. give me separate bows for the easiest ones, and slurred for the tougher ones. ><><><><

sight-read
hah! nice guy! gave me all alto clef. no treble phew. rhythm was again screwed, as usual. but i carried on confidently. pretty pleased with it. upon 18 rite? hopefully that can fetch me 14 as well >< but that's already being VERYVERYVERY optimistic about it. shall be working on it =)

lol. have absolutely no idea if i did well for this component. sight-singing and singing from memory were *okay* xP hopefully. the other components i have no confidence at all. would be happy if i actually get 13/18 >< again, being super optimistic liao lol.

generally, it was quite up to expectations despite some unexpected fumbles, hopefully i can achieve a merit. but i'm gonna work on my mistakes and try even harder next year (:

it always come down to last minute, that i start regretting not practising more. well, even when i'm typing all this, i'm practising. i'm typing with my toes =)

0___0 jus remembered there's RE semis tomorrow as well. which means i have to rush back to school after exam >< damn! thought i could go home and rest and finish all my stuff which i've left undone so as to obtain more practice time. tomorrow's gonna be a looooooooooooooong day. but i can't get to sleep. convenient eh? =)

aural and sight-reading are proving to be extremely difficult. i'll try to be ultra polite to the examiner tomorrow. so hopefully she'll give me easy ones. xP i'm crapping. cos i simply have nothing to do now but PRACTISE!!! msn is still down....

in chronological order:
Thursday
Teacher's Day Celebrations taking place in schools all around Singapore, most of them at least. ben wee, xueqian, yuzhou and i had to, however, miss the celebrations taking place in RI as we were performing in RSS (for those like saiful who're more than prepared to rat on us, we've got excuse letters. but i'm pretty sure the ongoing activities were more than enough to drag the attention away from our absence) I was really looking forward to going back- meeting teachers, old friends, and the new students whom i hardly know. and the weird feeling i have in my stomach everytime i return to rss kept coming back. loads have changed since i last went back. and i realised how few teachers i still recognise. so we started practising for our quartet item, with alex playing the cello parts heh. peixin arrived, and ben wee started working on his ~~wee~~wienawski piece. both performances went well! and cbw's piece was k, fine, stellar =)

spent most of the time chatting with everyone. i really miss the days i spent there, and i wish i'd treasured it more. but i'm glad i went there instead of gongshang, which was actually my mum's preferred choice then. never going to forget all my time in rss, my best moments took place there, and i have a feeling there're many more rss-ians who think the same way, yea?! =)

after the celebrations, which ended with some super spastic photo-taking, i went to queensway with ben wee! haha. shared the cost of a cra-sze t-shirt, which was meant to be a surprise teacher's day present =)

Friday
RISE lanning in the morning. boring for me as most of the people were playing dota -.- most of my time was whiled away chatting on msn, and watching getting pwned in dota. heh... that kinda sums up my day, apart from a lot more sims 2 x)

Saturday
lesson with mr sze. the whole lesson was the selection of grade 8 pieces. >< damn, they're tough. so i have to go for another lesson on wednesday, which will be nothing but scales. haha, bbq at david's hse on wednesday! wo0ts! looooooking forward to it! =) and we gave him the cra-sze t-shirt when cbw arrived. haha glad he liked it. it was a gamble lol. either he liked it, or he could have been offended. thankfully it turned out well wo0ts! more sims 2 of course. erm, happy birthday cbw! and i went overnight at huihan's house! yay! lots of xbox 360! which rocked. and sleeping throughout the night in 16 degrees aircon in the attic was even more fun!

Today
blah. boring day. the highlight was a wonderful dinner with my mum's side's relatives at some restaurant near Yio Chu Kang. the food's fabulous, though the chili crab tasted funny. not spicy enough X) and so little flesh lol xp

pheew. it's been a couple of days since i last blogged. second last week of term, yet still as hectic as ever! sheesh... covering the past week briefly

Tuesday to Thursday
Special Programmes! special programmes were carried out for 2F to 2I over these three days. Future Problems Solving programme on Tuesday was, frankly, pretty boring. we were stoning in class for a few problems discussing how to solve this futuristic problem. IF a critical problem like that ever occurs, seriously, wat makes them think that we'd have so much time to think of a solution... -.- the skit was, however, mildly interesting. unexpectedly, 2H won one of the prizes, heh... and all of us got a bar of chocolate each xp

and Traditional Chinese Medicine on Wednesday! lol... i was forced to take up this option as they ran out of spaces in Pet Rocket. surprisingly, time flew past rather quickly. most of the time was whiled away on Real Football, although i did manage to pick up quite a number of interesting stuff. that man at Sentosa Spices Garden gave us a type of fruit that was supposed to help in digestion. and he told us not to eat it unless we've taken a meal. 0___0 and most of us have already helped ourselves to the fruit. how nice =)

Thursday must have been the highlight of the whole special programme! haha! Pulau Ubin trip! wo0ts! encountered many interesting stuff. and Raj, our guide taught us loads! we saw a moth that was the size of our palm! and a spider shot a web at Mrs Lim Er Min haha. the spider was the size of a palm too. xD haha lots of fun! wouldn't mind going there alone sometime and see if i can encounter some of the rarer animals that are said to avoid crowds. heh, and we aren't exactly the most well-behaved guys around eh? shall post some of the pics i took... err... soon!

Friday
we started to put up the decor for Mr Lim's farewell party which will be held on Saturday. as the stand-in I/C for JonLim, it sure wasn't an easy task. printing 100+ photos and putting them up. a very big thank you to all the decor guys who took time off to help! it surely wouldn't have been as efficient without your help! =) rehearsal was zzz... with about half the ensemble missing. after rehearsal, i was supposed to print more stuff and the Workstation. and nic hsien was so nice, staying back with me and givin ideas (most of which i did use) xD haha thanks hsien! =)

Saturday
had a nice soccer session with some people from my class. and was fantastic haha. but before that i had to do my 2.4 with the rest of the "commandos". clocked 11+ timing. which wasn't too good. saiful didn't have anyone to pace with. and couldn't even get close to his pb. but he still did 10.50... %)*&_*&*%^)*^+$$%#(*()+*+ . it seems like i have to start learning to clear the ball faster haha! we then had a highly unsuccessful drama rehearsal. sigh. we've got to get down to serious work soon!

then we had Mr Lim's farewell party later in the afternoon. anyway, Monday's his last day =( everyone has to move on someday, but he's a man who has left such a deep imprint in this school (no pun intended) i'm gonna miss him, that's for sure.

later that night, RECITAL!!! aaahhh! screwed up la, seriously... I FORGOT NOTES IN MY SECOND PIECE! pffttt... owell, it's over. and i can work further on these problems. cos there's no guarantee these problems can't crop up again during exam. ><

today

i shall be sleeping after this short post. although i feel extremely energetic after my nap =)

EPL kicks off in about a week's time. i do not expect much shuffling at the top half of the table. though i wish Watford and Wigan both do well. besides chel$ea, Manutd, Arsenal, and Liverpool. tottenham should be a title-contender, with talent like Lennon and Zokora.

despite being a thorough-bred Red Devil, i have to admit Man utd's dominance in the EPL would be over for a couple of years to come. (give it say, 4-5 years perhaps?) they no longer possess the kind of depth in their squad during their period of dominance in the 90's. and many of their inspirational veterans are fading. they need to go through some massive rebuilding, like that of Arsenal last season, and Liverpool a few seasons ago, before they can start seriously challenge for top honours in both England and Europe once again.

but i believe, fergie, one of the greatest managers in the past 2 decades, have to leave. he's already past his prime, and i believe new blood, hopefully someone with competency like that of Benitez ( i have deep admiration of this guy despite him being l'pool's gaffa) will be able to lead Manutd towards success. and they HAVE to hold on to young superstars like Ronaldo and Rooney, instead of losing them to clubs like Chel$ea like the case of Obi Mikel.

whatever it is, Man utd's still the greatest club ever! wo0ts! :D

Hockey C' Div

to go up 1-0... then going down 2-1... equalising at the nick of time... going on to win the match on penalties. that was exactly what the Raffles Hockey team did this afternoon. or rather, yesterday afternoon.

i must admit the hockey finals has been the most exciting one so far. with both sides constantly creating multiple chances but failing to convert, it seemed like the Saints who was still biting on to their one goal advantage to win the match. however, Captain Balu turned on his magic to bring us into extra time. subsequently, victory through penalties.

this win really meant a lot to us. having been disappointed in a few other finals by close margins, especially judo and table tennis, this win has boosted all our morales and we are all looking forward to tomorrow's rugby finals! congrats to balu, eugene, qayyum, rashidi, jingyuan... and let's not forget, joshua! haha! well done! and good luck, all ruggers! =D

anyway, RISE elections were held on monday. and our new exco's out. they are a group of people who really have the capabilities to lead RISE to greater heights. so yea, congrats! =)

and this marks the end of my very 1st *actual* concert for RISE. it's been a great experience, and i believe RISE would definitely be able to reach greater heights in next year's SYF as well as our NYC trip (i'm already looking forward to it. lol) but time to focus on my viola exam, which is in less than a month's time <_< oh and tammy, thanks for the flower! haha! =D

RISE elections will be held this coming monday. let's hope the new EXCO can do as well a job as our current one! it's gonna be a stressful year for them, with SYF and all. i already have a rough idea of who to vote for(though the speech may sway my vote), and i believe they are more than capable of making a huge impact in RISE! =)

i just found out i'm badly short of cash when collecting ticket money0_0 been over-spending. poot. gotta start saving, which means no more Macs whatsoever bleargh... -.- generous donations from the kind-hearted would be more than welcome =) lol. chairman-hopefuls, any? xD jk...

my mood is feeling a lot lighter now! with the national days holidays going on, no point spoiling it by being grumpy. and i've gotta mug for malay and chinese tests which are unfortunately, next week.

National Day celebrations today were okay i suppose. although the speeches given were, ahem, a tad too boring. 0____0 however, the food rocked. and the concert rocked even more. Said, Saiful, Guodong and I were being spastic, as usual. screaming, rather than singing along =) and our friend (the one who got through to rugby finals yesterday) simply couldn't stop farting. he was trying to prove he could do that without the people around him noticing. but his constant giggling gave him away. what a nice thing to do eh? ;)

RISE concert's this friday. and i think mr sze's quite okay with our playing, cos he isn't flaring up as much *i hope*. thanks to all those who are coming down. bring flowers! haha jkjk! those who are not coming down, erm.... jus support morally. xp lol.

if only someone can get me out of the mess i'm in currently. i'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, lost. it's one of those situations where i wallow in self-pity, thinking that the whole world has wronged me. it's gonna be real pathetic, when i look back one fine sunny day. i thank all those who have tolerated my "moody and irate" self.

i've decided to blog since i'm unable to concentrate on math having just woken up from my little nap. i'm very uncomfortable with such sleep patterns, but i guess it's the best i can get. bleaarrggh...

my legs are feeling like stone, having ran 4.8km in the Inter-House Cross Country Competition. we missed it last year due to dr wiliam tan's ultra-marathon. and i never expected 4.8 km through mcRitchie to be that tedious, and i really exerted too much at the beginning. ended up outside top 50. jinghui and kern choong pro loooorrrr....and yuze has created a blog-http://panfishbreak.blogspot.com ... less then a day old.

and i've been scheduled to be the first up for assessments this friday!!! no thanks to nicholas hsien laaarrr! i *cough* overslept when i was taking my 5 hour long nap. i intended to wake at 6.30. but ended up waking up at 8. which is exactly when the Nanyang concert would start. and i was supposed to attend it. so nic hsien happily made his way to mr sze during intermission and ratted on me! damn my *cough* stand partner *cough*. so i'm first up for assessments. wish me good luck man. xD

struggling with erp currently. having only read the book yesterday, i've yet to decide whether to write poems, choose music tracks or the one on horoscopes... arrgghh... can't wait for the week to end...

an eventful week it has been, a far from pleasant one. getting screwed here and there, and my schedules getting messed up by everything that has taken place. but everything concluded on a wonderful note. =D

i shan't talk about my week in detail. it'd be far too much of a drag. and i remember too little as everything just zoomed past. and most of the stuff i remember are idle soccer chat i shared with friends, speculating if Ronaldo (the winker) would depart for Real Madrid or if Gattuso or Ribery would sign for Man United.

and the Finals of the Fifa World Cup 2006 will be in a couple of hours. the 2 teams now vying for the top position are both surprise packages to me. though i have to salute Italy's rock solid defence and Mr Safe Hands, Gianluigi Buffon. so it's Italy for me. although i hope zidane manages to shine at his last game before his retirement from football. after a glittering decade of football, he deserves to be remebered as a legend. and what better than a glamorous World Cup Final?

guodong got pretty jacked by saiful and myself. xD pretty evil thing to do...
remember the concert brought to us by RI bands on 10 June 2006. i still happen to keep the ticket, though in a bad shape. so 10 june looks like 10 july. so we managed to convince guodong to come for the concert with us tomorrow xD haha but i just spoilt the fun for saiful by revealing the whole tuth to guodong... we aren't that mean after all. xD

time for the highlight of the week. CDC Annual Production `06. laiye fangchang. we have been busy rehearsing for the past week. reaching home at about 11 each night leaves minimal time for homework. blearrgh. time to pia i suppose. xp

this laiye will definitely be one i'll never forget in my entire life. the shows we presented might not be ones of the very best quality, the audience we had might not be the most appreciative one. yet it was the people i acted with that made it so very special for me. it can possibly be the very last time i act on the same platform with the current sec4 batch. people came down to congratulate us on a successful performance, but i couldn't suppress that sinking feeling in my stomach.

i dread endings like that. the sec 4 batch is easily one of the most special group of people i have the pleasure to meet. the places so many of them hold in my heart are simply irreplaceable. and to hell with "Men don't cry", for i just couldn't hold back the tears after the performance. for the past 2 years in RI, i've gotten so accustomed to having them around me. i can't imagine school without the jokes of Tian Zhi, antics of Ming Xue, crappiness of Wu Yang, lameness of Rong Bing, etc etc.
tianzhi, told me people have to move on and become legends, so as to let future legends take their place. but i don't think i'm ready to let them become legends yet. not a single chance. =)

anyway, koala, if you're reading this, i'll do your quiz some other time =) i think i better finish my science homework before kick-off.

ok, the top 8 places of the World Cup are out! woohoo! no huge surprises. though i thought Spain deserved a spot. and the samba kings are starting to get into shape! wo0ts! go brazil! hahah! i predict a germany/argentina, brazil final. the other teams don't seem to be performing up to the same standard. in particular england, despite all the attention they seemed to be enjoying before the world cup started.

back from RISE camp

haha i'm back from my first ever RISE camp! =D it's been a really enjoyable 4 days 3 nights. and i'm looking forward to the one in the December hols already!

just visited Ruiheng's blog, and i realised how much it pains me to realise that while this is my first RISE camp, it will easily be the very last RISE camp any of the sec 4s will attend, many of whom i've become so close to. i'll treasure the remaining 6 months i have with all of them, before they move on to RJC.

i've been taking bus home with nic hsien, yu zhou and xue qian after rehearsals recently, and i alight at a bus stop right outside RSS every time i do so. i get that weird, sinking feeling in my stomach when i stand outside the school and just look at it. i remember how i used to stick around in the school compound after we've been dismissed, walking about, talking to friends, teachers, in no hurry at all to go home. sometimes thinking about how fast 6 years have just gone by like that. some of my happiest moments were in RSS, and i do wish i'd treasured it more.

haha, i've been working on this post since friday. and it's currently 1m on a sunday morning in Singapore. 2 days more, and school starts all over again. kind of looking forward to it. at least it gets my engine started again. and this term's gonna be exciting. with dramafeste, RISE concert, etc going on! it will be grrreeaat! =D yea, positivity xp

just returned home from parkway parade with my family. went to collect my new glasses =D and new school shoes for my sister. my new glasses are great, although they need some getting used to! so coincidentally, at that time, they were having some yo-yo challenge at parkway. so while my sis was picking her shoes, i was on the 2nd level watching world number 1 yo-hans flaunt his skills on the yo-yo, that guy's seriously... wooowww! and then suddenly, the emcee just popped up behhind me and shouted, "we've got ourselves a volunteer!!!" and so i was dragged onto stage and taught a couple of tricks, after which i was asked to perform them. lol. i did real badly, but they still gave me a cool "Fast Challenge" yoyo and a nice t-shirt lol. aaahh... the benefits of active participation ==''' my mum subsequently called me 3 times as she didn;t notice me embarrassing myself downstairs xp

this is really the longest period of inactivity ever. i've been such a potato. xD

hmm. making some progress in my viola lessons *i hope*, with mr sze's constant suanning. which is actually pretty amusing most of the time. well, here's an example.

i was playing the viola while mr sze was enjoying his ice cream on his comfy sofa.
he said, "i'm thankful i have some ice-cream to enjoy. you know, like watching a horror movie. it takes my attention off what i'm watching, or listening to in this case." blah! xD

oh and i learned a new card game- Bridge. whee it's real fun! going home with Xueqian and co. after rehearsal and playing Bridge on bus 13 is owell, amusing. especially with Nic Hsien around. lol, if i'm sharing room with him during camp tmr... heh xp

yep, tomorrow's camp already. my first RISE Camp! woohoo! really looking forward to it! =D and i know it's gonna be real fun =D wo0ts. i mean, what can you expect, when PT supposedly stands for PowersoccerTraining xp

i'm not acting in dramafeste this year. blah. pretty disappointing actually. but i can still look forward to being a member of the crew! Hullett looks real promising this year! so, GO HULLETT! =D

wow. more than one week since i last blogged. haha. longest period of inactivity encountered by this blog? yeah, i think so.
ouch, i realise my touch typing's really bad >< but it's improving haha! no surprise =p looking at the amount of time i spend on msn =p

the hols are finally here. after a ~~long~~ torturous wait. lots of things waiting to be completed. which i SHALL complete. so i can move on without any distractions... regardless of the result.

haha. lots of things to blog about actually. with the end of the Malaysian Montage, myRIAD, and soon to be, VJC Concert, Hullett Dramafeste, CDC's annual production, Fifa World Cup Screenings in school! phhheeww. the next few weeks are sure to be hectic, but real exciting! =D

the Malaysian Montage was a great experience. maybe not so much of the activities, it's getting to know new people and strengthening the ties with most of the people you already know. no doubt, there were unpleasant moments when we had to endure lectures, harsh words, and ~~fatal =p~~ injuries. nevertheless, looking on the brighter side, all these have contributed in making us, the sec 2 batch, graduating class of 2008, a stronger and more mature cohort... nurturing the thinker, leader and pioneer =p lol...

and specially to all those in Perak. ROCK ON!!! =D thanks for the great 4 days.
i'd specially like to mention our tour guide, Mike, one person i wish to keep in touch with even after the montage. always ready to greet us every morning with a smile and a familiar "wakey-wakey", he's definitely a jolly good fella! haha. sure, that's part of his job. but i can feel that it came from inside his heart and he's sincere towards everyone. and a thing worth mentioning was when he carried Rich after Rich had sprained his ankle during the jungle trek. he was not obliged to do that as Rich was from another group. but he just went that extra mile! =) and i was truly inspired.

i'm starting to get unenthusiastic about blogging. =/

myRIAD was on Sunday. so i went to buy my concert attire the day before. black long-sleeved shirt and long pants... well, i already have black shoes xD haha. and woohhoo! i made new specs! =)) lalalala. well, my current pair has gotta go. far too old and crooked. the new pair is fabulous. haha funky =D wheeee! and it was a real good day. went for mr sze's lesson. and i did, erm, *unexpectedly* well haha. i DID practise, real hard hahaa

myRIAD marks my first concert for RISE. and of cos, i look forward to adding more hahah! it was an okay-ish performance i guess. considering the amount of time we had for preparation and the time we lost due to Small World. but it was still quite a good first-time experience! haha! and i hope the August concert's gonna be a smasher! hopefully comparable to last year's Renaissance, one of the key factors inspiring me to join RISE! haha =)))

ohh yesterday was the best VJ rehearsal ever! mr sze treated, xueqiuan, ben wee, and me to lunch at Pastamania. wahahah! aww, those who didn't go, don't be jealous xp i was really bloated after lunch. and was close to falling asleep during the rehearsal for Beethoven x) well, thankfully, i did'nt doze off ultimately... and end up drooling into the instrument's f-hole xp hahahahah!!!

well, that pretty much covers the interesting stuff over the past few days haha!

missed school today. was sick. i seem to be falling sick real often this year >< crap, and so near to montage already... let's pray for a speedy recovery xD

mr fong released our science CT scores today. bleargh and i was absent. which makes me very vulnerable to the tricks Said and Guodong have up their sleeves xp. hah, and Said sent me an sms saying "you failed your science. 15 out of 45. but moderated to 25." shit, 15/25. that was bad. but i was so drowsy after my cough medicine, i went to sleep.

woke up at 6.30 by guodong's sms. "you failed yr science" feeling refreshed, i called him. and he told me. i thikn u got about 16 like that. so i though Said was telling the truth laa... so was rather sad. then i continued talking to Guodong about other stuff, like next week's Joga Bonito. then he told me "aiyah. actually we bluff you one lahh. u got 25. which means full marks laa" "serious?" whee... no school today for us! wo0ts! the school decided to give us a day's break for some reason. but no complaints there! woohoo!

for all readers, sorry for the post yesterday. i was.... errr... lost... but thks, yinz...

yesterday had my speed ramp graded. and had to miss 3rd lang. and i missed the dictation, which is like, 20 marks out of 40 of the written paper they were doing?! then mdm hafizah's says she's going to take off all 20 marks for that portion T.T ... which leaves me with 20 marks.. although it was easy and i'm pretty confident of achieving all 20 marks for that section... aaahh... mus beg hafizah not to count that portion in... ><

and my speed ramp was quite okay... 17/20... mr fong says it wasn't attractive enough. and the calculations were written wrongly... Nvm.. 17's not too bad laa... lol... yingjie's ramp was whoaaa... super pro... the material used made the rolling looked damn cool. nd the calculations were super precise. veryveryvery nice.. 2 thumbs up!

jus watched some video i dug out. Popstar. teenage romance. but not those *goose-bumpy* type. more like a romantic comedy... typical plot.. but not too bad a way to spend 1 and a half hour xD whoa.. damn free since cts ended heh... and samkwek wants a date... =='''

ahah another *fulfilling* day =D whee!

woke up at 9.30, which is surprisingly early, for me that is heh... but of cos with a motive laa... to play Fifa Manager 06.. wo0ts! restarted a small part of the game. so now Tevez, Robinho, Mascherano, Kuranyi, Rooney and Kaka are complete pwnage xp heh! =D spent most of the morning and afternoon playing. then went to napped. so work done= 0% and there's a zuowen due on tuesday 0__0 no playin tomorrow le ><

then went for HCI concert. well. it was, =/ ... the hall itself ain't very big, and it was barely 3/4 filled... a lot of problems laa, honestly... BLATANT out of tunes, wrong entries... sigh. and 1 guy plucked an A-string accidentally at the end of the movement when it was supposed to be damn quiet.. and apparently, it was embarrassing...

and mr foo say ming, shawn neo's teacher, was not bad... though i felt he wasn't really concentrating, and shawn said he was applying little pressure, so as to *save energy*... tiao... ==''' but mr foo say ming is really a good musician no doubt. his vibrato is =D whoa... impressive!!!

but the last part was what i paid my 10 bucks for! hahahaha! Mr Chan Yoong Han and the concertmaster, Alaln Chu played a viola/violin duet... mr chan on the viola of cos... pro man... the concertmaster is really good! he has already accepted a scholarship to Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music next year! wow! and he already has a DipLRSM... siggh... i feel so bloody inferior xp...

actually, i liked their first violins... they were far superior compared to the other sections...

oh and joshua has smth to say about "lol"... rofl... xp

haha sorry for the lack of updates, people. busy with the exams... BUT, they are ALL over! wo0ts! till next term =D

haha... addicted to Fifa Manager 06, again. =D wheee!

aaah, it's been a tiring day... woke up at 9 and reached city hall to meet Said, Linus and Chong Yu... we arranged to meet at 10 initially. but Said only left home at 9.30... and so, he could reach EARLISET 10.30... but knowing Said, i knew he'd be late. so i decided to reach at 10.38 and Said reached at 10.39... jkjkjkjk :P

so we reached bras basah complex at about 11.30. and went straight to ArtFriends. and >< the shop was only open today at 12. so we went to slack in Popular. hid from chong yu. and he couldn't find us.. we're evil xp we made him wait for 15 min.. then went to purcahse stuff...

bought some good stuff. and spent abt 34 bucks... wheee good! went to bishan to collect our stuff and went for lunch at j8.. long john's =D not eaten there for ages haha. then went to my house and started work..

well the planning took a great deal of time. and i ended up having to pay for 5 more styrofoam boards.. out of which 2 was ultimately left unused -.-3.60 leh. T.T hahhaha..

but whoa seh! i damn happy... our ramp is really damn nice now.. we jus go decorate it's gonna be so "pwnage" heh :P jkjk.. but i'm really satisfied. whee. the relaxed mood without any tests to mug for is sooo good! =D

i've been hit by a bout of post-performance blues.

Saturday was Chinese Drama Competition! reached school at 9.30. to do a final run and put on all the make-up, before leaving for Ulu Pandan Community Club. some minor glitches occured along the way. but we still arrived on time, and ready for our performance. after lunch and some rest, we started warming-up for our performance. and soon the competition commenced.

i was pretty surprised actually by the standard of the performances put up this year. the standard seemed to have slipped so much in comparison to previous years. most of the shows lacked depth and were, simply put, booorrriinnng... soon it was time for our 1st play to go on stage. and it was really good. wenjun's antics spiced up the whole performance. and except for the fact that jieqi's shoulder rest dropped off near the end of the show, the rest of it was wonderful! however, i was shocked by the auience's response to the performance. they were laughing at the most inappropriate times. and the humour was so, so.. insensitive. i nearly exploded on the spot... what the hell was the problem with these people?!

nevertheless, it went smoothly. and i was sanguine about the chances of it occupying a berth in the top 10 positions, and proceed to the finals.

and soon, it was our turn. it was really one of our most successful runs ever! although the timing at the start was screwed, we covered up for it so nicely, no one could have possibly noticed. i believe even Mdm Cai din notice it. we were really satisfied with our performance. and i was really happy for the rest of the day.

that is, till i heard about the results.

neither of our plays got into the finals. i was really shocked and surprised when Mdm Cai told me the results over the phone. i'd never ever thought of the possibility that neither of our plays would get into finals. and i'm really disappointed. we're not trying to be sore losers, but we really feel we deserved to get into the finals! it really whacked me hard in the head as i was not ready for it at all!

i'd really like to thank a good friend for supporting me, and talking to me as i tried to come to terms with our failure. thanks so much, yea? if we know we're good, no one can put us down! we'll just go back again, next year, stronger than before!

it still doesn't stop me from suffering from the psot-performance blues. hai...

lessons with mr sze next day was good. i dun find the need to elaborate... i felt that i played pretty well. and he seemed pretty happy. or at least that's what i think! xD

and today marks the start of the RI Lame Jokes Competition! lalala! and at the perfect time too! the ideal time to de-stress as we enter the peak period of mugging for our CTs lol!

why did John throw the butter out of the window?

... because he wanted to see butter-fly! hahahahaheeehooohooohooo!!!! ok LAMEEE!!! hahahahha

and today's match support was great. RI lost to Chung Cheng by a close margin. but the players should feel really proud about it. they fought really hard. andFOUGHT ON! and they have truly shown the Rafflesian spirit depsite not emerging victorious.

i feel really relieved now. after the mad phase of crazy project work, the workload is starting to clear. now can concentrate on CTs le xD

had viola lesson with mr sze this morning. will be having them on sundays for the next 3 weeks as well. he's involved in some sort of musical on saturdays.

it was a pretty fruitful session with him. although generally all the lessons are quite productive... wo0ts! we spent the whole lesson doing scales. he's really stringent with the tone. and he really expects it to be flawless, which is good! =)

and he was like illustrating the point that you really have to spend lots of time doing such things. and when he snapped his fingers and said time flies. cbw rang the doorbell at the exact same time! hahaha. nice coincidence there.

and a little bit about CCC (chinese cultural camp) last week. Hullett got 3rd. we lost to morrison in 2nd place by a really close margin. the positions are:

camp FEAST was expectedly bad. i feel it was one of the worse caps i've been through. hmm, in fact, the worst ever. the food's the only thing i was looking forward to in the camp. pretty delicious. the rest of the camp was crap... >< why am i mixing crap with food... Nvm...

life's pretty hectic. so i don't foresee myself blogging too often. though i wish i can. rehearsing hard for Chinese Drama competition. at the end of this month. i really wish to break into the finals. it'd be a real achievement for CDC, if both shows we put up get into the finals! =DDD better still, if one of our plays get top 3 awards!

not blogged in about a week. 1st week of school. not that hectic after all, what a relief... =D but still, gotta keep this post short. haha

viola lesson with mr sze today was screwed up. it's totally my fault. should have practised harder. and we started at erm, 2.45?! and so ben wee watched most of our lesson, like i did his. and looking at cbw's standard, i can't blame mr sze for being pissed with me. there's a long way to go... Trevor Sze the prosecutor ;)

then reached hom for barely 1 hour, went to the esplanade to listen to 'Russian Nights' with ben wee. met jinghui, hongrui, ruiheng and zhiyuan. all except for me are from MEP... haha last-minute concert review. i dun understand why i found it so boring. the soloist is good, no doubt. but i found the piece boring. and so, i dozed off... x(

then talked about Zukerman's concert. and the bombshell. it's on the 26th of May, which clashes with the sec 2 Malaysian Montage. crap... all sec 2s, please don't buy tickets for Zukerman's concert! and anyone want 2 tickets from me and benwee?
what a pity... missing the gala event of the year... pfft... i'm so gonna make sure MM turns out to be great fun...

friday RISE rehearsal...wow... overslept and was lat by 1.5 hours >< tt' totally screwed up. but surprisingly, mr sze was in a relatively good mood and iescaped punishment. phewww.... but i'm so gonna make sure that never happens again. might not be so lucky. haha

then went for LANning after rehearsal! wo0t! sadly i got like all giddy after some time and went outside to vomit. i've payed CS for a number of times but this has NEVER happened before. and this morning i was supposed to go to VJ... woke up at 10 and felt really giddy... started vomitting, so smsed mr sze.

then went for lesson at 2. and he said, "overslept right? more like... " -.-''
today's lesson was screwed lar... for some reason i kept screwing up the stuff i HAD practised...
and that really pissed mr sze off... i feel really disappointed also lar. dun wanna disappoint mr sze. i dun think any teacher would actually allow me to take Grade 7 viola. i'm really gonna work hard for that distinction!!!

woke up kinda late for RISE today. but took a cab and was 10min early. Mr Sze took a cab and was 15 min late. =D

before the break, rehearsal went pretty well. Boyce is relatively easy. except for a few wrong entries xP. but still, it was pretty successful. i was quite satisfied with my reading and stuff. then trouble started brewing after the break.

i did smth that i feel really guilty of during the break to someone. upon reflecting. i feel really damn guilty about it. and i feel really bad all the way till now. i understand why you're so angry. but please, forgive me. i sincerely am sorry about it.

and i screwed up again about 10 min from dismissal. was practising some wrist movements when mr sze was talking... so kinda distracted... then jon koh stopped my bow. and i lost attention. i turned to my right. and it s-l-i-p-p-e-d. the viola slipped and dropped onto the floor >.<>

finally. holidays! i'm so glad i finally have the time to take a breather. pphheewww... it's been hectic. aim to complete the hw as soon as possible. to prevent the normal last-minute rush... :P

track and field finals on the last day of school. and i seriously feel proud of all the Hullettians. in fact, ALL sportsmen who took part. =D i understand the disappointment the people who didn't win anything feel. after all, i myself had crashed out in the Heats last year with really bad timings. but in Track and Field, i feel victory is not everything. Hullett got a humble 3rd position. but i have a great sense of pride about being a Hullettian and when i don the new "Eclipse" t-shirt! it's the spirit we have towards our house that matters. the passion, the hard work we put in! i was therefore really happy for Said when he was named Individual Champion. well done, Said! =D as well as Bryan and Saiful who won medals for the relays!

for those who didn't win any medals, don't be too disappointed. as long as you've tried your best. u shouldn't feel any regret at all! i'd like to applaud the Morrison runner who did 700m in the 4x400m event. that happened cos a particular someone baited him into doing that. boo you, loser! where's the spirit of sportsmanship Track and Field is supposed to advocate? and call urself a tracker... but well done to all the rest who competed with sportsmanship and contributed to their respective houses! =)

had lessons with Mr Sze today. he was in a good mood when the lesson started. was whistling as he arranged the flowers he just bought in a vase. he bought flowers! xD and he had a really nice wallpaper flooded with penguins. he took the photo himself. really cooool! =)

i had my chin rest changed. the new one's much more comfortable and fitting... 38 bucks! $_$ but it really helps in my sliding cos it's "solid" and fits well. today's lesson went pretty well. i really practised hard in the past week and progress was rather good. he seemed quite pleased. so yea, wo0t! and he asked me to play for VJC viola section in their June concert. really good. cos it'll be extra practice and more experience for me.. so why not? (and CCA points :P) Wang Xiang, Yi Yang, David. and a few others will be going as well. can't remember everyone. but at least, there'll be quite a number of us... =DDD

checked my email. WTH! those people who did the additional 1 hour last Monday can go to school on 9am for holiday rehearsal on Monday! whoa... shiok sia! the rest of us have to wake up like 1 hour earlier?! ggrrraawwrr!!!

busy planning for class outing. things are takign shape really well. hope it'll be a smashing success.

Chinese CCT today was okay lar. i are not say i'd do well for sure. but somehow, i feel that the difficulty of the chinese tests have been dropping since the 1st one last year. which either means my language has improved tremendously.=p or that they are lowering the standards. either way it is, i wish i can score well... 50-min long test. and i think i wasted too much time on the chang wen suo duan. leaving me with miserably little time for the last question. so gave quite shoddy answers >< wadever, i'm glad it's over! wo0t! =D

so malay test tomorrow. phew. my hols would "start" once it's over! can slack liao! haha.
busy copying notes for malay now. wah, have to memorise a lot of phrases leh... crap lar... argh!

no title again.

last week of school! what a relief. it's been a hectic term... and with jus 2 more tests (malay and chinese), i can finally have some breathing space. =) and more time for. uhh... other stuff.

had Class meeting during CLE. talked about the discipline stuff, which was very much repeated. and we came to the class blog and class CIP. i announced the url of the class blog. and so, all 2Hians, so start making full use of the blog and make it a success, yea? and CIP, we've not really settled on anything in particular. a lot of us are keen to do busking. me included lar.

RISE!!! wo0t! RISE rocks lar. in fact, it was the only part of the day i was looking forward to. besides recess and lunch of cos. even so, recess and lunch nowadays quite sian. cos guodong can't play soccer due to his finger. argh...

well, jus found out the malay test's been postponed! to thursday! wo0t! that leaves me with more time to stufy for chinese. which i am doing right now. well, jus 2 more tests to go. and soon when the term draws to a close... there's RISE LANning and the 2 days of extended hols to look forward to! LALALA!!! =DDDDD

no title for this post. i duno wat to write.

went to gramercy in the late morning to get my shoulder rest, rosin and chromatic tuner metronome. and guess who i met there? mr sze! so he helped me picked my purchases. he seemed in quite a good mood throughout. and i had lesson with him later that day. which was a good sign. =)))

but i completely screwed up.

the Bach piece was pretty easy. after all, i had really practised hard for it. and he was happy with the improvement. then he told me to start playing Barcarolle. and i told him i din practise it. i thot he only wanted me to do refine the Bach piece at home. and i completely screwed it all up lar. and he started flaring up. and that was scary. and cos of that, my concentration started slipping even further. and that's really bad...

friday was a good day in general. went for lunch with kevin and cbw after my history test. which was relatively easy ;) heh... then i had to go back for CDC. which took up half an hour of wat should have been good practice time in rj... talked about the scripts and casting. bryan was well. o.0 rebellious? neraly landed homself an important role. but somehow, they gave it to jieqi in the end... i was supposed to maybe help direct that one. but i had to take up a role in the other show, as yingjie couldn't take it up cos of gym. which took place everyday.
hmm. and that means the start of more late nights spent in school then!

and rehearsal was so much more different from wat we had with mr chan. discipline. mr sze is so much more strict than mr chan. so he blew his whistle so damn hard, in an enclosed room?! damn good way of keeping us under control... lol. although i think he was in a pleasant mood generally. except for some parts when he started yelling. and i was so lucky not to have become a victim of his musical chairs... jon koh and gerald were, from our section.

and he brought the cds which contained the photos of his antartica trip. they were labelled "trever" =DDD
david and i stayed back to look at them in the canteen. a couple of them are seriously fascinating! wow... u can't believe it till u see it for urself. amazing, i tell you.. simply amazing...

have to go now. mugging for chinese. and that means it's the last week of the term.

time flies. which means soon, i'll have to bid goodbye to the sec 4 batch. many of which i've forged such good relationships with people whom i really wanna keep in touch with after they leave RI. people who have truly left a mark in my heart, that can never be removed...

just returned from mr sze's house. phew. what an experience.

i arrived at 8.18pm. (i was scheduled for 8.30) so i rang the doorbell twice, no one came o.0 so decided to give him a call. and he smsed me at the same time. he would be late for a few minutes. wait a while. so okay. i sat down on the corridor. and fell asleep xD

and ended up having a completely numb leg when we started. and my fingers were like so stiff. and i screwed up scales, as usual. and he didn't seem too pleased... not at all. then we started lessons. of cos, i had lots of technical problems. i will need time to correct them, and hopefully, i can do so before september when i go for the exam. or the tone will simply be horrendous and the overall sound quality's gonna be seriously affected.

mr sze really does have very high standards. maybe it's cos my current teacher is slack. but is just that he makes u play that phrase over and over and over and over again, until u can play it in your sleep lar. and he expects me to grasp it the 1st time round. that is simply quite hard for me, as my previous teacher used to be damn slack. like i can completely bo chap rhythm or wadever, and he doesn't really care. but mr sze's so much stricter, which i think iss realy beneficial, especially wthin such a short time frame of 6 months which i have to prepare for the exam.

i was damn slow in my progress throughout. he can say "sharp!! sharp!" like 3 times then i finally change it. and i could see at some points he was getting really pissed. and that jus spurred me to perform better. hmm. somehow, i work better under pressure. so generally, my 1st lesson has been really enriching. yep! =D

so about 10 minutes after the lesson, he talked to me about the plans he have lar. he'll be registering for viola grade 7 which will take place in september. and so he'll really have to push me and therefore, i have to leave my precious violin to collect dust for a few weeks... and he has mentioned his intentions of me taking grade 8 violin in next year. >< and that is really unnerving. i completely doubt my capability to do that. well, i brought up my worries and his reply was "well, we still have almost 2 years! why not?" and i was like "wow". then most likely i'll be taking grade 8 viola in sec 4!!! =D wo0t!
but that's still so far ahead. i should just focus on improving on my basics. and hopefully achieve a distinction for grade 7 viola 1st. i really want it, and i will really work hard for it...

the weather's rather hot recently eh? so i think i might start having nosebleeds again. my health condition has really improved. i used to nosebleed so frequently. and once i had a nose bleed in the middle of the night. i thot it was just runny nose. until i found the liquid flowing out my nose, err. warm. i found half of my pillow dyed red. nothing to worry about much lar. in fact, i think stress will cause the "heatiness" to increase and cause even more frequent nosebleeds.

we should all try to take things in our stride and not get stressed out by all the obstacles we might face. it's tough, but we'll ultimately overcome them, if we work for it. jus like i'm working very hard to overcome grade 7 viola now. and hopefully, an even more challenging grade 8 violin next year.

ultimately, jus take things easy. dun take things too hard. life's never perfect, yea?

yay... today no homework! so time to sleep!!!! =DDD yay!

Mr Sze is back! But i didn't go for the first rehearsal as i was sick yesterday. And i'm blogging at 11am on a Tuesday morning... I have mc for 2 days.

was supposed to go to trevor's house last night for lesson. he wants me to take grade 7 viola in september. and the deadline for registration is in 3 day's time. o.0 i duno if i have the capabilities to actually >< i think he's gotten a somewhat wrong gauge of my capabilities from RISE auditions. according to cbw, i played *exception*ally well on that day. yea, simply an exception. and he mentioned he wanted me to take Grade 8 violin next year. i was simply so damn surprised. with pieces the standard of Vivaldi Spring, i seriously doubt i'll be able to... argh! he'll be pushing me like mad lar, of cos. and hopefully, this weird idea will turn out as well as the rest of his weird ideas do. haha

going to his house tonite for lessons. he says he has to let me grasp the basics of all three pieces first. well, good luck? xD

ok. i'm gonna finish all my homework now. since i've got so much time on my hands. hee...

pheeew... have not blogged for a long time. due to yet another one of my mum's innovative ways of punishment. how about confiscating the monitor? o.0 since confiscating the mouse din work... =) i can function solely with the keyboard. -.-

life's been pretty monotonous. 15/25 for English Compre. YUCKS! room for bargaining... but i doubt there'll be much change to the marks ultimately lar... 28/30 for science. not bad. though the average was 27. it's an easy paper. like wat mr fong said, too easy. it's not a good gauge of our capabilities. the geog test was quite okay. although i've a bad feeling my answers were not detailed enough, and i won't be achieving for this one... argh.

RISE on Friday was slack. no conductor. for the last time. so we played soccer in the hall. and the ball got confiscated by an RJ PE teacher. i seriously duno why he did that. we din even know we weren't ALLOWED to play in the hall. he could have warned us first or smth rite? but luckily we apologised and he reluctantly gave it back to Jinghy. it's his CLASS ball...

and *drumroll* mr sze will be back in a days' time. who knows, he might be at the airport already, freezing half to death. that means, i can officially start my lessons! wo0t! and we'll start getting tortured in RISE!!! =))) and i've started sight-reading the Grade 7 piece. i have 1 day to polish it up to examination standard. wow...

well, gotta go mug for history. need ta pay more attention to my school work. my grades are really dropping. i need to buck up! yes, i've been saying this for a long time. but i really need to constantly remind myself. my results this term hasn't been spectacular (complacency, i suppose), or for some subjects, not even satisfactory. 1 term has gone by. and in a flash, i'll be in long pants. i really gotta buck up. before it's really too late.

so wish me good luck. as well as for my Grade 7 viola exam in September or so. i really wish to achieve for this one. i've been putting in a lot of time this year to both instruments. even more than my studies xp i think.
